Environmental paces

The bush has many different microhabitats and diversity of plants. This activity helps students to think about these differences that can occur in a very small area.
How it works: 

Participants should spread out in a specified area where they can take ten steps. As each step is taken, participants should stop and count how many different objects they can touch without moving their feet.

They can compare what they find with a partner or the whole group.

What you'll need:

You can change the characteristic of the objects being sought. For example you can have students look at the different shades of green they can find.
