1000 Steps - Kokoda Memorial

For the soldiers who fought on the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea during World War 2, the Dandenong Ranges National Park is a significant place of remembrance. Completed in 2013 the Memorial Wall and Terrace are places that honour their Endurance, Mateship, Courage and Sacrifice. Thousands of people complete the 1000 Steps Walk (Kokoda Memorial Walk) each month. The track climbs up through a picturesque environment that abounds with native wildlife.
