Map of Ecological Vegetation Classes
Ecological Vegetation Classes (EVC) are a way of grouping the different vegetation types. The different vegetation types are then plotted onto a map.
Park Rangers and scientists use these EVC maps to identify where particular types of vegetation occur in the park. This helps them to manage the park to protect endangered plant species. EVC maps can also be used to identify the areas where you might find particular animals too as each animal has its preferred habitat that it likes to live in.
