There are many picnic grounds in the Dandenong Ranges National Park.
These are designed to attract visitors to specific parts of the park where the impact of their visit can be minimised. These will have paved roads, toilets, picnic facilities and maintained walking tracks.
By creating these focal points for visitors, other parts of the park can be left reasonably undisturbed. This helps protect habitat for the plants and animals that live in the park.
You can do your part while visiting by ensuring that you take all of your rubbish home with you and by not feeding the animals.
